The Hopkins Society (UK) was founded in 1990. We are a group of people who enjoy the poetry of Gerard Manley Hopkins and want to find out more about his work and his life. The Society organises at least one event each year, usually in places associated with Hopkins. Our programme at these events includes lectures and readings, as well as social opportunities over meals to share our love of Hopkins with one another. We also hold regular online poetry reading sessions when members can select and read poems by Hopkins and other writers.

The society publishes an annual Journal with articles by members and other Hopkins enthusiasts. It hosts an annual Hopkins Lecture, many of which have been published in the society’s Occasional Publication series.
